Smash Cake Session | Cason turns 1!

Have I mentioned before how I love walking alongside families as they expand and grow? Maybe once or twice, right? LOL! If I had to pin down my most favorite thing about what I do, that would be it…which basically boils down to relationships with my clients. Connecting and staying in contact with my clients is a big part of what I do. I don’t click and then forget. I want to see you and your family over the years, watching your family expand and your children growing. It makes my heart happy!

And so, of course, little Cason just turned one and we had to do a smash cake session with him. You may remember us do his newborn session, his mom’s maternity session with baby sister, his sister’s newborn session, and now here we are again! To refresh your memory…Baby Cason —>

Anywho…Cason’s mom calls me to schedule. I love that we have my photography studio available to facilitate photography sessions. I do the majority of the setup, so that the family just needs to show up. We stuck with the forest friends theme, which I think really turned out great for both his newborn and his smash cake session. He is such a happy little baby boy, as you can see in his photos, and super chill and laid back like his gorgeous mom.

Capturing details is something I love to do for families, maternity, newborn and babies alike. I love little toes and noses and fingers and lips and more! So in a smash cake session, I will try to capture those cake smothered fingers, cheeks, lips, cake in hair, cake on booty, cake between the toes and more. We love the big picture but those detail shots really just bring it home for me.
