Studio Newborn Session | Composites

If you have followed me for a little bit, you may have noticed some pretty amazing captures involving elephants, scales, and more in my images. I have received comments like “Where do you keep the elephant?” on several occasions, which makes me laugh and brings joy to my heart.

Why do I do composites?

So, I have a few reasons behind my actions.

  1. Props cost money. The more I have to buy, the more I have to raise my prices. AND I may use the set up once or several times. Since I love keeping my photography at a more affordable level for more people, I choose to do one composite for each studio session. Super cost effective for all!

  2. I strive to bring a classic look that is consistent across my portfolio. I also love creating an image that really resonates with and represents that specific family. I always try to capture an image that allows me to easily move baby into a composite image. Sometimes, it is as simple as an elephant for the nursery’s theme of safari, and other times it is something more like a family’s love of travel. Whatever the case, I strive to tailor each composite to fit with that family.

  3. Composites feed my creativity! Duh! I love creating an image from multiple images. Composites are like onions…they have layers. :)

Here are a few of my composite images.

Let’s connect today to see how I can best serve your family!
