Family Session | Portmann Family

Most days, I love having family sessions outdoors when weather permits. This allows the kids to be kids. Run and play and yell and laugh, and even allows for a tantrum or two with minimal options to hurt oneself or equipment. I also love nature…the colors, the leaves, the grass, the animals and more. I love it all!

Every once in awhile, though, I get a family that wants some traditional pictures in addition to the outdoors captures. For these photography sessions, I love to do them at my photography studio in Canton. At this location, I can get the best of both worlds with the indoor traditional and the outdoor natural images without everyone have to load into the cars for multiple locations. That just gets tiring…am I right?

Working with this family was just so sweet. The quiet way they had about themselves just brought an overall sense of peace and wellbeing into the studio. Calm and collected, but still goofy at times, this session was truly a blessing to my heart. With their daughter getting ready to travel, they wanted photographs of just her, just the parents and her, and the whole family. The emotion just rolling off this family as they prepared for her to move was just the sweetest and most endearing thing to witness. Goodness! Have I mentioned how much I love what I do?!?
