Baby's First Year | Remi's First Year

I love working with families. They are each so different but so much the same. Their love for one another, their dependence on each other, and other foundational characteristics make each one a family unit. I love when I get to follow along with a family as they grow. For instance, little Remi and her family:

We started with mom. While Remi is her second child, Remi was not her second pregnancy. So…in honor of the little ones that did not make it earth-side, we pulled out this gorgeous rainbow dress and it did not disappoint! Being able to incorporate details into each family’s session to honor loved ones is so special and makes each individual session magical.

When Remi arrived, we were so excited. All of us! I was excited to meet her, hold her, smell her (don’t judge me!), and help celebrate the birth of this amazing little girl.

We did wrapped, outfits, props, beanbag, and nursing! We did baby by herself, baby with big brother, and baby with mama. We also dressed mama in one of the maternity gowns she wore for her pictures and captured her nursing Remi.

Again, connecting the pregnancy to the post-natal time is so special for me. Mamas being able to see that connection is so meaningful for them…truly a treasure for all time. One they will carry with them and share for many years to come.

Over the last couple of years, I have watched this family go from trying to conceive, heartache, pregnancy, birth, newborn session, milk bath session, nursing session, Christmas session, and then baby’s first birthday smash cake session…plus parties, getaways, and more. This family definitely has a piece of my heart.

Here’s the amazing thing. This family is not the only one! I love each of my families that walks through my photography studio’s door.
